People who want to sell their old mobile and buy a smartphone may be interested to hear Research In Motion has now launched a new BlackBerry Podcast application.

Mobile users will be able to enjoy a range of video and audio content that can be downloaded over Wi-Fi and then viewed by the device’s media player.

Individuals just have to search through the Podcast Catalogue and they have the opportunity to subscribe to their favourites.

The podcasts can then be stored on a microSD card so they can be watched or listened to at any time.

Mobile users will also have the chance to sign up to an alert system that will let them know when a new podcast is available from one of their subscribed channels.

“BlackBerry Podcasts offers an enriched and streamlined multimedia experience,” remarked Alistair Mitchell, vice-president, Multimedia Integration at Research In Motion.

Customers of mobile network Three may be pleased to know it will soon stock the BlackBerry Torch 9800.
