People who love music might always be on the lookout for a mobile that offers them the capability of playing their favourite tunes, especially after selling used phones.

One of the market's greatest options may now be a BlackBerry device, after manufacturer Research in Motion (RIM) revealed it has added new technology.

BlackBerry Messenger Music is now up and running and provides an integrated service for socially connected music lovers.

"We have partnered with leading music companies to provide a full track music sharing and discovery experience that will provide users with quality music on demand," explained Mike Lazaridis, president and co-chief executive officer at RIM.

He added that the technology will also allow users to socialise with others and connect with their friends, perhaps to share ideas on what tunes to listen to.

The network Three recently confirmed it is adding the BlackBerry Curve 9360 to its extensive portfolio of mobiles on offer to consumers.
