A press release has suggested that Samsung Galaxy mobile phones will soon be able to run BlackBerry's BBM messaging service.

The idea of the Canadian manufacturer altering its BBM app to allow it to work on Android platforms has been bouncing around the rumour mill for a while.

However, the document seems to confirm that users of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and S3 will be able to run the messaging service very soon.

Unusually the only confirmed region for the new app is Africa, which seems an odd marketing strategy for the firm, with its biggest markets being in other regions and other continents.

In the press release, picked up by N4BB, the only time period given is a rather vague "soon" but it had been rumoured that the service would arrive by the end of next month.
