Consumers who rely on access to their emails on the go may be interested in a mobile trade-in and subsequent upgrade to a BlackBerry device.

This is because Google has launched new software for those with a phone from the brand, according to Luis Sigal, software engineer at the search engine and author of its Mobile Blog.

He notes the update for the Google Mobile app means there is an improved service for people hoping to access cloud-based messages.

Such a function is particularly useful for those with a Gmail, Google Docs or Google Contacts account.

Mr Sigal goes on to explain how the feature works, giving the example of somebody who is searching for an old email containing a checklist.

Simply by saying ‘checklist’ into the device, the new app will find the relevant file within seconds.

BlackBerry has recently been increasing the range in which it offers its most popular products, adding the Curve 3G model to its stocks in Australia, Thailand and Malaysia.
