Chief executive at BlackBerry Thorsten Heins claimed that the debut of the new BlackBerry 10 (BB10) operating system and complementary Z10 and Q10 mobile phones was “the best [release] day ever”.
He clarified: “In fact, it was more than 50 per cent better than any other launch day in our history in Canada.”
The executive showcased the company’s latest creations in New York on January 30th, while simultaneous press events occurred at locations across the globe.
He now claims that the new smartphones’ sales performance in the UK has been three-times better than any previous sales attained by a BlackBerry gadget.
The Q10 may attract customers as it sports the manufacturer’s iconic physical QWERTY keypad, which can help users to compose messages more quickly and accurately.
On the other hand, the Z10 is a full touchscreen device which features high-end specifications, including a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and an eight-megapixel camera.
