Research in Motion (RIM), the company behind the BlackBerry range of mobile phones, has announced two new smartphones are to be released.

It has confirmed the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and Curve 9380 devices will soon be available for consumers to snap up – possibly after trading in a used model.

Each of the handsets has been designed with a stylish and sleek look and the very latest technology.

They excel in areas such as multimedia, social media, communications and camera, while they are also said to feature high-resolution displays.

Carlo Chiarello, senior vice-president of handheld product management at RIM, said: "We think many customers will be thrilled by the faster performance, beautiful touch displays and compact designs available with these new BlackBerry 7-based models."

The network Three recently announced it is to stock the BlackBerry Torch 9810 device, giving its customers another option should they wish to upgrade to one of the brand's top mobiles.
