In the latest of a long line of patent wars Apple is seeking a US ban on Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus – the flagship phone for the newest version of Google’s Android smartphone OS.

This may prompt people to look for different devices when selling their mobile phones in the near future.

In a statement alongside the lawsuit filed in California stated that a preliminary injunction regarding the Nexus that infringes “multiple key Apple patents” is essential to prevent immediate and irreparable harm to the firm.

“While Samsung sells products copying features that make the iPhone distinct, Samsung has simultaneously embarked on an advertising campaign designed to tarnish Apple and mock its consumers for considering Apple’s products distinctive,” the statement continued to read.

Apple was recently forced to pull its iPads and iPhones in all its German online stores following the enforcement of a patent injunction against the firm by Motorola.
