Apple and Samsung have been in battles over mobile phone patents for years; however, it now appears that the two giants could be trying to find a long-term resolution.
According to The Korea Times, which spoke to an official at the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC), the pair of manufacturers have "resumed" talks in order to work towards the "signing of a potential deal".
However, this doesn't mean that Apple and Samsung will reach an agreement where they are both happy to draw the line. The companies have been in discussions before to try and end the succession of patent battles in the courthouse but they ended without any resolution.
Recently, Samsung lost another fight with Apple in Korea, which may have been the catalyst to this latest round of talks.
However, the two are due back in court next year and whether these discussions will be enough to cancel the hearings remain to be seen.
