Rumours have died down about the possibility of a Amazon-made mobile phone, however, the new reports have emerged about the device.
According to TechCrunch, Amazon is now in the process of making two handsets, instead of the one which was previously assumed. The duo of devices is thought to include a high-end handset which will feature a 3D user interface and four camera for facial tracking purposes.
The premium "Smith" smartphone reportedly uses four cameras, one in each corner of the handset, to track the head and eyes of the user to make the display appear 3D.
However, if it's true, the device could come with an eye-watering price tag if the company is unable to absorb the manufacturing cost of four cameras. The report suggests that real-world image recognition could be a possibility, which would make it easier to purchase products from the e-commerce site.
