The Acer Liquid E1 mobile phone has been unveiled, sporting mid-range specifications alongside the Android Jelly Bean operating system.
Owners can therefore access the virtual store Google Play, where apps, magazines, books and movies can be downloaded.
There is plenty of space to enjoy multimedia thanks to a 4.5-inch touchscreen, which has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.
A 1 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM will help to keep the device running smoothly, while 4 GB of on-board memory is provided.
Photographs can be taken with the five-megapixel camera, and self-portraits and video calls are facilitated with a front-facing snapper.
The uSwitch Mobile Tracker shows that its main rival is likely to be the Samsung Galaxy Ace mid-range handset.
Acer could reveal more about the availability and pricing of the device at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), which takes place between February 25th and 28th.
