Acer has released its own hybrid device, which combines a mobile phone with the size of a tablet, in the form of the Liquid S1.

The device was hinted at during the Mobile World Congress earlier this year but it has taken until now for images to appear.

Sporting a 5.7-inch display, the Acer Liquid S1 is a hefty device, and carries a quad-core 1.5GHz processor, eight-megapixel rear-camera, two-megapixel camera on the front, as well as running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Acer is making sure everyone knows that the device carries the Float UI which is supposed to make multi-tasking effortless by allowing various widgets to run on top of apps.

The company claims that the UK should get this device within the next few months, possibly around October time, and it will set customers back around £300.
