A number of mobile phone manufacturers have now released gold editions of their flagship handsets, including the recently released iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy S4. However, now HTC has joined the golden party with a brand new variant of its One handset.

Although this isn't the first gold handset that we've seen from the company, it will be a lot more affordable for users. The first gold HTC One was made of actual gold, 18 carat in fact, and would have set you back £2,750, while this new handset will cost the same price as the regular smartphone.

TechRadar managed to get its hands on the sparkly HTC One and has shared its thoughts from its website.

"Gold phones run the risk of looking tacky, but we reckon HTC has done a good job on this One and it certainly lands on the side of tasteful rather than tasteless," said the tech-savvy website.
