Android mobile phone owners will now be able to catch up with their favourite Channel 4, E4 and More4 programmes on-the-go, as a 4oD app has been launched through Google Play.

Owners of handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S3, LG Nexus 4 and HTC One X+ will therefore be able to benefit by downloading the tool for free.

Users have unlimited access to content, meaning that they can stream thousands of episodes of television shows like Homeland and Hollyoaks to their device.

Shows that have been screened in the past 30 days are likely to be present on the listings, alongside classic series such as Father Ted.

Those with compatible smart TVs and smartphones might even be able to share the videos with the big screen for superior comfort.

Gadget lovers looking to enjoy entertainment on the daily commute could also install the BBC iPlayer and ITV player apps.

Sky Go allows customers to download shows and movies to watch offline, and users can even watch live broadcasts on-the-go.
