Nokia Normandy Android Handset Spotted

A while ago we heard that Nokia was planning to adopt Google's Android software for a future mobile phone.

However, when Microsoft bought out the device division of the Finnish firm, it seemed unlikely that the project would happen.

The handset is currently known under the codename Normandy and has appeared online, sparking rumours that it could come into fruition.

Twitter tipster @evleaks has shown the internet what the Android-Nokia device could look like.

The purported press render is similar to previous leaks that featured the smartphone, showing the device appearing in a range of colours including lime green, white, yellow, red, blue and black.

Now that Nokia has sold its mobile phone division to Windows giant Microsoft it seems an unlikely move that the company would adopt a rival operating system for its future handsets.

Even if the Finnish manufacturer did have something Android-based planned, it seems likely that this smartphone will be shelved as long as Microsoft owns the company.
