Intel To Bring Innovative Wearables To CES 2014

We recently heard reports that French manufacturer Archos is looking to bring a smartwatch to the CES 2014 event in Las Vegas, but it may not be alone in its quest to get people wearing their mobile phones.
Intel is looking to expand itself into the smartwatch market as it has promised to bring innovative wearable devices to the global tech meeting, which kicks off next week (January 7th).

Speaking to Re/code, chief executive at the company Brian Krzanich said that the wearable market is "wide open".

"What you will see at CES is that we are actually going to bring some very innovative wearables to the show that are developed and manufactured here."

However, if it wants to crack the market it will have to compete against some smartphone giants. Samsung has already released its first Galaxy Gear wearable device, while Apple is thought to be in the process of producing the iWatch.

Many expected the first smartwatch from the Cupertino company to arrive at some point in 2014, but recent reports indicate that the manufacturer is having trouble with the production.
