6-inch iPhone to arrive in May?
It was only yesterday (December 23rd) that it was discovered that Apple has 'big plans', thanks to a leaked letter from the mobile phone company's chief executive Tim Cook.
However, reports have already emerged that suggest the manufacturer was being literal and is planning a larger iPhone.
According to Digitimes, Apple has a six-inch smartphone in the pipeline and it is scheduled to launch in May next year (2014).
The release date indicates that this won't be an iPhone 6 but could be a completely different range of devices. The source also suggests that this handset would feature a 20-nanometer processor built by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company.
It seems as though the Cupertino firm really does have big plans as Digitimes' report also says that Apple will release a 12.9-inch tablet. The new iPad would be aimed at "targeting North America's educational market" in October.
Currently, Apple hasn't confirmed that it has such devices in the pipeline but, with more than four months until the first release date, it's more than possible that a company announcement will follow next year.
