Umeox X5 is the 'world's thinnest' handset
With the IFA 2013 event in Berlin just a few weeks away it's no surprise that some of the smaller companies are starting to reveal the mobile phones they will be packing to take to Germany.
Chinese manufacturer Umeox has made a start by stating that its next handset, which we originally heard of in June, is the thinnest smartphone in the world.
The Umeox X5 is a tiny 5.6mm, which makes it 0.24mm thinner than its nearest rival the Huawei Ascend P6. It is set to unveil the smartphone under its European Thompson Mobile name at the IFA 2013.
Although many manufacturers are likely to try and take the accolade away from the Chinese firm, for now the four-inch handset is the thinnest around and comes with a MediaTek chip, will run Android Jelly Bean and has a five-megapixel camera.
