UK release for Hyundai watch-phone
10/03/2009
Hyundai's MB-910 watch-phone will be released in the UK later this year, it has been announced.
The device, which has a 132 x 176 pixel screen, will be priced at around £200 and will likely be sold sim-free when it launches in a few months time, as Hyundai Mobile UK's head of marketing and communications Graham Jeffs told TechRadar.
"We're looking to sell the MB-910 as SIM free, with it likely to appeal to early adopters," he remarked.
However, the company has also shown the phone to a number of networks and is adopting a "wait and see" approach in case any are interested in adding it to their range.
The £200 price tag makes the MB-910 significantly cheaper than the recently unveiled LG watch-phone, which is expected to cost in the region of £1,000, according to Mobile Today.
It is thought that the device itself will cost £500 through Orange, but will be packaged with a minimum line rental of £40 a month.
