Trading-in mobile may make it easier to find hotels
People who often find themselves in need of a hotel in the UK for a night or two may find trading-in their mobile and switching to an Apple iPhone pays off.
Those who follow such a plan will be able to download the new Premier Inn app, which is to be available by the end of the week.
And people who do not fancy an iPhone need not worry, as the tool is also set to be released for Nokia devices, meaning it will soon be able to be downloaded from the firm's Ovi Store.
Steve Conway, head of innovation at the hotel chain, says: "Premier Inn is the first budget hotel chain to produce an app that is available across all smartphones, helping to make us accessible to as many guests as possible."
The purpose of the app is to help people locate and check availability of Premier Inn accommodation from Dorset to Cumbria and Norfolk.
Mark Caswell, editor of businesstraveller.com, recently said mobile phones are becoming more important in the travel industry, both for researching destinations and securing accommodation.
