Trade in mobile phone 'to enjoy Spotify on iPhone'

Trading in an old mobile phone may be one way for music fans to get their hands on the latest technology.

This could give them enough cash to purchase either an iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS, both of which offer the Spotify app.

Craig Westaway, writing for review site Cnet, says the music player has now been updated to run on the iOS 4 platform.

One benefit of this is that when listening to a track, navigating away from the app will not result in a closure of the song and users can still enjoy music while browsing the net or emailing.

"Also new with this update are a range of social features and a 'What's New' tab, which lets you peruse new additions to the Spotify database and see [popular] tracks," the author states.

The iPhone 4 is the latest addition to Apple's product portfolio and racked up sales of 1.7 million during its first three days on the market.
