Trade in mobile for new city guides
Tourists who love to travel and check out all the world's major cities might have more reason than ever to trade in a mobile phone.
That is because Rough Guides has launched specialist apps for the iPhone that cover a variety of destinations.
Among them are London, Paris, Rome and New York – all of which now have a dedicated tool offering tips, information and reviews.
Rough Guides apps provide lists of all the key sights, hotel recommendations and restaurants to cater for any budget.
Perhaps the greatest benefit is that GPS mapping can be accessed via the downloads, so there is no reason to ever get lost in a foreign land again.
And it is not only while abroad the apps are useful, as they can also be used to plan a trip weeks in advance.
Daniel Ashdown, a research analyst at Juniper Research, recently concluded that playing music is becoming one of the major reasons for investing in iPhones.
