Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 unveiled

03/09/2009

A follow up to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 was announced this week and its creator has detailed some of the reasons it might tempt those recycling mobile phones.

In addition to an 8.1-megapixel camera - that builds on the 3.2-emgapixel snapper from its predecessor - the manufacturer has equipped the device with a 3.2-inch high resolution screen.

However, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 will still be powered by Windows Mobile and will retain its full qwerty keyboard, which the firm stated would also make it an attractive option for professionals.

Marketing business manager for the firm Sumit Malhotra said: "We constantly rely on our mobile phones as an extension to the office and the Xperia X2 ... allows users to work quickly and efficiently while on the move."

The gadget can play video at DVD quality and has a TV-out connector to screen content on a larger viewer.

Sony Ericsson unveiled the Xperia X1 in February.
