Sony confirms Xperia T Android Jelly Bean upgrade
Sony has confirmed which of its Xperia mobile phone range will receive the operating system upgrade to Android Jelly Bean.
Certain handsets currently running Ice Cream Sandwich will receive an over-the-air update which will allow them to utilise version 4.1.
The Xperia T, known as the Bond phone thanks to its inclusion in Skyfall, TX and V models will all start to receive the new software in February and March.
After this, Jelly Bean will roll out to Xperia P, J, go, S, SL, ion and acro S device owners. Sony has decided not to offer the update to Xperia U, miro, tipo or sola users.
Google claims that the latest main version of its software is "the fastest and smoothest" yet, thanks to improved CPU and memory efficiency.
According to the latest available data, just 6.7 per cent of Android gadgets on the market are powered by the Jelly Bean platform.
