Smartphone sales 'surge'
Smartphone sales surged in the last three months of 2009 with sales exceeding those seen in the previous quarter by 25 per cent.
According to findings from ABI Research Apple, Nokia and BlackBerry lead the way to much improved numbers of smartphone shipments in comparison to the previous nine months.
Those who have already upgraded to a new smartphone or would like to do so could wish to sell an old mobile for cash.
"The robust strength of this market's recovery is very encouraging indeed," said Michael Morgan, an analyst at ABI.
He added that although it is quite usual for the fourth quarter sales to be better than those seen in the third, the third had only seen a 3.6 per cent growth over the second quarter.
Vodafone recently revealed three new smartphones would soon be on sale to consumers - the HTC Legend, HTC Desire and the Google Nexus One.
