Sky Go service to hit Android phones
The Sky Go service is set to be rolled out for Android users to download in the coming weeks, which could see a number of people look to sell their mobile phones to get an Android powered device.
Sky Go was launched for customers of the service to watch TV on the move at no extra charge seven months ago and it is now attracting 1.5 million unique users a month.
Head of Sky Go Holly Knill said the firm would be making the service available to a number of Android smartphones first starting with Samsung Galaxy and HTC handsets.
"We will be expanding the content on offer on smartphones and iPad by adding the Sky Entertainment channels to Sky Go. This will kick off with the addition of Sky Atlantic to Sky Go today," she continued.
It was announced earlier this month that the BBC News app for Android would now be available on larger tablet devices.
