Shazam could encourage music lovers to recycle their old mobile
Music lovers could be tempted to trade in their old mobile for cash to put towards an Apple iPhone with music apps including Shazam.
Mobile network O2 is now offering Shazam users the chance to receive tailored information about artists that they have specified they are a fan of.
The operator will send advertisements to customers about tours and users will then have the chance to purchase Priority Tickets up to 48 hours in advance of tickets for gigs at the O2 and O2 Academy venues around the UK.
Shadi Halliwell, head of UK brand communications at O2 said: "Shazam is one of the most popular apps on the iPhone and a perfect way of reaching potential customers."
O2 recently announced a partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions to end call charges for its customers who ring 0800 helplines operated by the government department.
