Selling mobiles to enjoy BlackBerry apps could be enticing
19/12/2011
People could be preparing to sell mobile phones in order to switch to a BlackBerry device and enjoy the brand's range of apps.
Alex Saunders, vice-president of developer relations and eco-systems development at BlackBerry, told the Guardian tech Weekly this market is currently a busy one.
Consumers are said to be willing to pay for the company's apps, allowing developers to benefit from a profitable sector.
"There is a community of developers today that have built BlackBerry OS applications on Java. BlackBerry's Java developing environment will not continue onto the BBX platform," the expert stated.
Investing in a BlackBerry could bring users closer to tools that offer information, advice and entertainment on a variety of subjects, from sport to health and games.
All Things last week reported that Openspace has launched a brand new physical app store that will offer people help and advice on which apps to download and use.
