Selling An Old Mobile Phone Could Allow Users To Upgrade And Buy On The Mov

Selling an old mobile phone with Mazuma might allow consumers to purchase a new handset and purchase items - including tickets - while on the move.

Recent research has suggested that one in ten mobile phone users will either use their handset to purchase a ticket or have it sent to the device by 2014.

This activity will see a five-fold growth in the next five years, according to Juniper Research.

Melvin Benn, managing director of Festival Republic, suggested that at present e-ticket usage is "occasional".

He said: "Until we are 100 per cent [sure of the technology] we are unlikely to be pushing it much."

Consumers with new smartphones may already be able to use their handset to purchase tickets while on the move.

Mobile boarding passes are already available to use in the US for passengers travelling on domestic flights from airports including Denver International and Salt Lake City International.
