Sell used phones to join mobile broadband revolution
People who choose to sell used phones and put the money towards a new, hi-tech model can join the growing number of mobile broadband consumers.
New research by Strategy Analytics has predicted that some 525 million broadband-enabled devices are expected to be in use around the world by 2016.
It believes there will be a steady uptake of mobile broadband models over the next five years as people continue to demand more from their smartphones.
"The growth in the number and variety of Wi-Fi-enabled devices has considerably increased the value proposition of these mobile hotspot devices," explained the research body's director of wireless enterprise strategies and author of the report in which the findings are released.
It is said that shipments of mobiles with both embedded and external broadband services will rise.
O2 recently announced it has launched its first 4G long-term evolution network in London, enhancing broadband connections for those in the capital.
