Sell mobiles and switch to tablets this Christmas

A significant number of people might be looking to sell mobiles and join the tablet revolution this Christmas, if one expert is to be believed.

Lucy Hedges, a TV presenter and technology journalist, said tablet devices are "what's hot right now".

She said the powerful gadgets typically offer dual core processors and a large quantity of hard drive space.

"The iPad is definitely something that will be at the top of a lot of Christmas wish lists this year. Also, Samsung's Galaxy tablet is hotly tipped to be quite high up," Ms Hedges stated.

She said that smartphones and tablets are likely to dominate the festive market as a large number of people opt to ask Santa to upgrade their device, potentially leaving many ready to sell used phones.

Recent research by uSwitch.com showed that the average spend on technology over Christmas by UK parents is £99, down on £108 in 2010.
