Sell mobiles and switch to new iPad in 2012?

The next-generation iPad could encourage more consumers to sell mobiles and take advantage of newer technology, with the tablet due out in the next three to four months.

According to the Digitimes, production of these gadgets is predicted to reach between 9.5 and 9.8 million units in the first three-month period of next year, with parts and components already being delivered to contractors.

Furthermore, supply of parts for the iPad 2 is now being wound down, sources in the supply chain are reporting.

And a Commercial Times article also noted that Foxconn Electronics intends to begin producing the new iPad in January, with production volume ramped up at the start of February.

One expert who believes that the tablet is the "hot" product for Christmas is TV presenter and technology journalist Lucy Hedges, stating that the gadget will definitely be at the top of a lot of festive lists in 2011.
