Samsung Genio Touch adds to 50 million sales
Following the recent launch of the Samsung Genio Touch, the manufacturer has outlined the successes it has seen with its other, similarly equipped models.
This week, the firm said that in the year ending November 2008 it had been able to sell ten million touchscreen mobiles, before adding another 40 million to the tally in the 12 months after this.
Commenting on the milestone, executive vice-president and head of Samsung Electronics' mobile communications division JK Shin highlighted this as "remarkable growth".
He added: "Consumers increasingly enjoy the user experience and convenience that these devices put at their finger tips."
The Samsung Genio Touch is an entry-level touchscreen device that is available on the Orange, Vodafone, T-Mobile and O2 network - with many operators issuing it free on selected tariffs.
However, the device is also featured on a number of pay-as-you-go options - which could make it an ideal Christmas gift for those recycling mobile phones.
