Samsung Galaxy S5 may reject home button
With rumours implying that Samsung may release its next flagship very soon, more reports have predicted more about the upcoming Galaxy handset.
We've already seen leaks that claim to show what the user interface will look like, but this rumour concerns the hardware of the Samsung Galaxy S5.
According to a patent granted by the US patent office, the Korean manufacturers could be planning on getting rid of its physical home button for the first time. Although the document was filed at on July 20th 2012, it has only just come to light.
Samsung handsets have always featured a home button and a number of other soft keys below the screen. However, the patent suggests that the company is planning on abolishing this.
However, what is also of interest is, what the patent doesn't say. At no point in the document does it reference a retina scanner or fingerprint technology, which have both been linked to the Samsung Galaxy S5.
