Samsung Galaxy S3 mini with 4-inch screen unveiled
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S3 mini mobile phone at an event in Germany on October 11th.
Despite the name, the device still has an ample four-inch screen - making it bigger than the likes of the Apple iPhone 4S.
Consumers who struggled to navigate the S3 gadget's 4.8-inch screen with one hand should therefore be able to use the new phone in more comfort.
The price of the new handset is expected to be relatively low compared to the original, so the quad-core processor has been replaced with a dual-core and a 480 x 800 resolution screen is used in place of the full-HD 720 x 1280.
However, the mobile phone will feature the latest Google Android Jelly Bean operating system, which S3 owners in the UK are still awaiting.
It retains the original 'nature-inspired design', meaning technology which tracks a user's eyes to optimise back-lighting and voice-to-unlock software is present on the mini.
Samsung says: "[It] is packed with intelligent technology designed to make interacting with the phone incredibly natural and intuitive."
