Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini now available with NFC
An updated, Near Field Communication (NFC)-toting version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is expected to launch in the UK at the end of January.
The South Korean manufacturer originally released this mobile phone in November, following the huge success of its big brother.
Customers with lower budgets were therefore able to take advantage of the 'designed by nature' features on a smaller four-inch display.
Specifications were less impressive than the S3, but the Mini still sported a dual-core processor, five-megapixel camera and up to 16 GB of internal memory.
However, it seems as though the device will take one step closer to its predecessor by incorporating NFC technology, which facilities wireless communication with compatible devices.
Owners can use the S Beam to share photographs, videos and contact information with friends, or might even make contactless payments in-store with their Google Wallet.
Samsung spokesperson Simon Stanford said: "It is an exciting time in the mobile market watching the next phase of its evolution take shape, so we’re happy to announce that we are bringing these new experiences to our customers."
