Samsung Galaxy S Revealed With 4 Inch Touchscreen

Samsung has revealed the Galaxy S, a smartphone that is hoped to make a splash in the market which is currently dominated by the BlackBerry and Apple's iPhone.

With a four-inch touchscreen and a one gigahertz processor, the Galaxy S - which is based on Android 2.1 - is expected to be launched globally later this year.

Individuals interested in the trend for more environmentally-friendly handsets could be pleased to hear that the active-matrix organic light emitting diode screen uses less power.

The Social Hub of the phone is another feature which may prove popular. This plugs into email and social networking websites to allow users to fully integrate these.

Furthermore, the five-megapixel camera comes with high-definition video capture.

Individuals who are considering upgrading to a smartphone this year may decide to sell their old mobile phone to raise some cash to cover the cost of a new contract or handset.

Samsung recently revealed the Modus, complete with noise-cancelling technology and a feature that gradually mutes music when a call comes through.
