Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to be waterproof?
New reports speculate that Samsung could be making its next super-sized mobile phone completely resilient to dust and water.
According to ETNews, the Korean manufacturer has cancelled an order for five million LDS (Laser Direct Structuring) antennae and has opted for H-IMA (High-performance In-Mold Antenna) technology. This could be because the former is harder to make waterproof than the one that Samsung now seems to be favouring.
The company has brought waterproof technology before with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active but it seems as though the firm may be wanting to target a bigger audience this time around.
However, it is unlikely to make it into the Samsung Galaxy S5 as the smartphone's release is thought to be just around the corner, but it could arrive in time for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
This means that Sony would have a competitor for waterproof handsets as it has been the only company to really push the technology in its high-end Sony Xperia Z1.
