Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Receives Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Update

An upgrade to the Google operating system has started to roll out to Samsung Galaxy Note 2 owners - it has initially gone out to Poland, but others should be able to benefit soon.

This smartphone-come-tablet gadget was released with Jelly Bean 4.1 pre-loaded, so the changes are only incremental.

Users will be able to download version 4.1.2 over-the-air using an internet connection, or through the South Korean manufacturer's Kies software.

There will be scope for additional personalisation on the notifications menu, including the option to toggle certain types of messages on and off.

A new option to disable the Multi-View feature also reportedly helps to make the device run more smoothly and quickly.

Currently, only 6.7 per cent of Android customers are using Jelly Bean, and just 12 per cent of these have the latest version 4.2.

Although upgrades to the newer software should roll out to a number of mobile phone users, only Google Nexus 4 owners can currently benefit.
