Recycle mobile to snap up 'attractively-priced Android devices'
People who recycle mobiles and look to use the funds raised through this to snap up another device may find their money goes further if they choose an Android.
That is because the operating system is said to offer hi-tech handsets for an affordable price, in the opinion of Dominic Sunnebo, global consumer insight director at Kantar Worldpanel.
He was speaking after a comScore release showed Android has a 44.8 per cent market share in the smartphone industry.
Mr Sunnebo suggested this is in part down to the large number of functional phones the brand has powered, with more than 100 thought to be available.
"I think what Android's managing to do is convert people from feature phones over to the smartphone market - and I think pricing plays a key part in that," he added.
Eric Schmidt, chairman of Google, recently told Le Web expo in Paris that Android is the world's best operating system for mobiles, Pocket-Lint reported.
