People warned of data roaming charges
Solving the problem of data roaming could help save mobile phone users plenty of money as companies are using the charges to rip consumers off, an expert has suggested.
In the interest of good customer service, mobile network providers should do something to prevent customers running up enormous bills when travelling abroad.
Editor of Mobile Gazette - a mobile phone news website that covers GSM and 3G handsets across the world - Conrad Longmore said that such is the popularity of smartphones and tablets that people expect to be able to use these devices anywhere without incurring massive bills.
"We still hear stories of people running up bills of thousands of pounds when overseas, and this should simply be impossible," he continued.
In a bid to try and quell the amount of people who are charged when travelling abroad in Europe, the EU is set to vote on new rules to reduce the amount consumers can be charged.
