Owners Of Apple IPhone Given More Mobile Printing Options

Mobile phone consumers with an Apple iPhone to their name may be pleased to learn of the arrival of a beta version of the brand's popular AirPrint tool.

It allows people to access nearby printers on a wireless basis and send their text, photographic and graphics documents to be transferred onto paper.

The technology means people do not have the hassle of connecting a printer to a computer, downloading software and installing drivers and can instead let their iPhone do the work.

"iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users can simply tap to print their documents or photos wirelessly to an HP ePrint printer or to a printer shared on a Mac or PC," explains Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide product marketing Philip Schiller.

People who regularly print pages, perhaps for work, may be among those queuing up to trade-in their used mobile in favour of an Apple handset.

In June, the company launched the iPhone 4, which went on to sell more than 1.7 million units in its first three days on the shelves.
