Orange helps mobile phone market to go green
Orange has announced a new agreement for the launch of more eco friendly mobile phones in the UK.
It has signed environmentally focussed C Mobile, a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), on to its Orange Partner Platform.
Later this year, a prepay MVNO will be launched in the UK with handset and SIM-only deals available for the eco and ethical market.
This allows consumers to fund energy projects that are ecologically sustainable.
"It is great to see how many different companies are waking up to the potential of the MVNO market and with our Partner Platform its so easy and quick to get going," suggested Stephen Harris, director of business development at Orange UK.
He added Orange looks forward to working with C Mobile in the eco-mobile market.
The network operator has also announced it will offer, from the end of May, dedicated Apple iPad price plans for all models.
