O2 offers affected customers olive branch
19/07/2012
Beleaguered mobile phone network provider O2 has offered its customers affected by the loss of service earlier this month a free gift voucher.
Thousands of customers were left without voice or data connections for as long as a day after a technical glitch played havoc with the network.
This meant that some mobile phone numbers were "not registering correctly on our network".
As a result of this, the firm is offering a free £10 gift voucher to those affected, as well as ten per cent on their bill if pay monthly or ten per cent extra on their first top-up in September to Pay & Go customers.
The company said in a blog posting that it wanted to thank all of its customers for continuing to support the firm in such a difficult time.
"We have now identified all those customers directly affected and we and are giving them the equivalent of three days back for the disruption as a gesture of goodwill and to say sorry," the post read.
