Nokia Says It Has Beautiful Phones Ahead

Nokia chief Stephen Elop has said the company still has "beautiful phones" ahead for its customers.

Finnish company Nokia dominated the British mobile phone market from the late 1990s and its 3310 and 3330 models are some of the most iconic handsets around but lately the firm has been falling behind in the fast-paced, quickly developing technology arena.

During an interview on Finnish TV, he not only flung the presenter's iPhone on the floor but dismissed, the company's rival, Apple as "embarrassing".

Nokia has been struggling to keep up with the likes of Apple and Samsung with the look of its handsets. Mobile phone competitors have been investing in making their devices sleek and light whereas the last few models from Nokia, such as the Lumia 920 and 820, have been chunky and heavy.

Mr Elop avoided a wave of persistent questioning about the rumoured upcoming Lumia 928 and diverted conversation to the fact the budget Lumia 620 was arriving in Finland.

If rumours are to be believed then the Lumia 928 could be released in some countries by April but nothing has been confirmed by Nokia or its chief executive yet.
