Nokia move 'reflects iPhone convergence'
The creator of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic may have made a smart move by announcing its move into the laptop market, it has been advised.
A spokesman for Computer Active, a publication which provides news and comment on the latest digital and technological developments, said the Finnish firm had a lot to offer the sector.
Paul Allen, editor of the resource, said although only time would tell if Nokia would be able to hold its own in the industry, it seemed to make sense for it to take its experience into the area.
"The divergence between mobile devices is closing now, we have the iPhone now that is a practically a laptop with a phone built into it so the idea that a phone manufacturer should start moving into the computing arena is fairly logical," he added.
Nokia unveiled the Booklet 3G this week and said it would incorporate HDMI compatibility, an integrated camera for video calling, Bluetooth SD card reader and a ten-inch HD ready.
