Nokia HERE Maps application available for Apple iPhone
Nokia's new HERE Maps application is now available for download on Apple iPhone devices.
The tool is competing with the American manufacturer's own navigation tool, which has experienced a vast amount of criticism since its release on September 19th.
Apple shunned the previously pre-loaded Google Maps app in favour of its own creation, but it unfortunately was loaded with mistakes.
In a formal letter, chief executive Tim Cook even advised his customers to utilise rival navigation apps while the company worked on improving its own.
Nokia's offering allows users to view areas in satellite, live traffic or normal map view, and offers offline access.
Pedestrians will also apparently be able to "feel like a local anywhere [they] go", thanks to the step-by-step walking navigation feature.
The tool is compatible with handsets running iOS 4.3 or above, so those iPhone owners who have updated to the latest version 6 software will be able to benefit.
Users can install the app for free from the App Store, as long as they have a suitable internet connection.
