Nokia Finds Bug In Lumia 900

Ailing mobile phone manufacturer Nokia have had to delay the launch of its new Lumia 900 dashed as its makers have reportedly found a software bug in it.

Officials at the Finnish firm had been quietly confident that the new flagship mobile phone would propel the Nokia brand back to the upper echelons of the technology market after a tough 2011.

This software bug, though, could scupper the company's ambitions to re-enter the lucrative US smartphone market.

Nokia lost its smartphone dominance to Apple and Google as it struggled to deal with a company change of focus from its Symbian operating system (OS) to the Windows Phone OS.

Gartner analyst Carolina Milanesi told Reuters: "They stalled their engine when everybody is looking at them at the start of their race."

Nokia smartphone unit chief Jo Harlow and the firm's US head Chris Weber added in a joint statement: "A memory management issue was discovered that could, in some cases, lead to loss of data connectivity."
