Nokia adds Bluetooth 4.0 to WP8 Lumia devices
The recent Amber download saw Nokia update a number of its Windows Phone 8-toting mobile phones, however the company doesn't want to stop there.
At the moment, Bluetooth 4.0 low energy (LE) is missing from a number of the Finnish firm's newest handsets. The recent update saw the Nokia Lumia 520, 620, 625 and 720 updated to support the technology but the manufacturer wants to extend this to all of its Lumia devices that run Windows Phone 8.
This support will come under the guise of a new Black update, which should also bring tablets up-to-date as well.
When all of Nokia's Windows Phone 8 Lumia handsets are brought up to scratch, it means that users will be able to save battery power while using Bluetooth. The technology allows Lumia customers to connect with other devices, as well as integrating a number of fitness accessories.
However, anyone with the Lumia smartphone that hasn't updated to the latest software won't get the Bluetooth support.
