New mobile phones to remove need for sat-navs?

Mobile phones are increasingly offering more features to users and people could find there is no need for a separate satellite-navigation device, if recent suggestions are anything to go by.

Juniper Research recently published findings suggesting that by 2014 the number of users of location-based search on mobiles would be one and a half billion.

Those looking to get their hands on a device that offers built-in navigation might wish to consider selling their old mobile phone for cash with Mazuma.

Money could then be put towards a new smartphone, which are increasingly including mapping services.

"With more smartphones sporting large vibrant screens and extended battery life, mobile phones are becoming a genuine alternative to dedicated sat nav devices," said Danny Brogan, reviews editor of Mobile Choice.

Consumers could find they no longer need to carry a sat-nav around with them, he added.

In the first quarter of this year smartphone sales to end users reached 54.3 million units, a 48.7 per cent increase from the same period the previous year, according to Gartner research.
