New HTC 606w appears in China
The HTC 606w is the new mobile phone from the company and it has surfaced in China. The phone is essentially a better version of the First but without Facebook Home, which makes sense as it is banned across the nation.
HTC apparently tried to keep the device's profile low and sneak it into the country, but it was picked up by Digi.Tech, which managed to get a glimpse of the new handset.
Specifications for the 606w are fairly modest, but it has an Ultrapixel camera on the back, a 4.3-inch display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of device storage and 1.2GHz processor. The one drawback appears to be that it is all powered by a 1,700mAh battery, which may struggle to keep up with the specifications of the smartphone.
It also runs Android 4.1.2 with a HTC Sense 5.0 overlay.
The company hasn't confirmed anything, even the official name of the device, but more information is sure to come out soon.
It's not unusual for companies to just market certain phones in Asia so it's unclear whether Europe or America will ever see it.
